Learn about It was a subdivision of Munger district before it came into existence as a district on 10 May 1981. There are some important places of religious importance for excursions in Khagaria, so let's know about them: -

#KatyayaniSthan
Situated near the Dhamara Ghat railway station in Farqia area of Khagaria district, the court of Maa Katyayani is one of the 52 Shakti Peeths across the country. It is said that in the Daksha-yagna, Murmati Sati committed suicide by insulting Lord Shankar. The mournful Mahadev was distraught. With the corpse of Sati on his shoulders, he started the Tandava in Rudraparup. To save the world from inevitable destruction, then Lord Vishnu dissolved the part of Sati with his Sudarshan Chakra. Various parts of the divine body of Sati fell in different areas. Wherever their limbs fell, there were Shakti Peetha. Here his right hand fell on the banks of the Koshi river. The reason behind calling this place as Katyayani place is found in Skandpuran, in which it is mentioned that the sage Katyayan lived on the banks of the river Koshi and worshiped Mother Bhagwati every morning. Due to Janushruti, this temple came to be called Katyayani Temple.

The idol was picked up by a Brahmin Gopi Thakur and installed on a well near his house. After installing the idol of Maa Durga on a well, Gopi Thakur spoke to the dignitaries of the panchayat on this dream and after the efforts of the people of the village, the idol was removed from the well and installed on the southern left of the village.

This historic palace is known as Bawan Kothi Tirpan Dwar. This palace is Mughal period, its architecture is still alive today. There is a pavilion inside this palace, around which different sounds are made by hitting the brick. There is also a tunnel inside it. Through the same tunnel, the king and queen used to come to the temple to worship. 27 types of bricks were used in this palace. This labyrinth is why it is said that if an unknown person entered it, then he could not get out soon. However, due to the apathy of this historic palace government and district administration, till date tourism The department has not been able to get on the map and its situation has deteriorated a bit.
