Three Metrics for Quantum Computing Performance: Scale, Quality and Speed
Описание
Jay Gambetta, IBM Fellow and Vice President of Quantum Computing at IBM, explains how quantum computing performance is determined by three key metrics: scale - the number of qubits, quality - Quantum Volume, and speed - CLOPS (Circuit Layer Operations Per Second).
As quantum computing evolves we care more about the useful work that our systems can do in a reasonable amount of time. IBM Quantum has developed a new metric to measure quantum processing speed: CLOPS measures how fast a quantum processor can execute circuits. The CLOPS metric represents an opportunity for the industry to truly benchmark their progress and measure quantum computing performance against differing hardware architectures.
