Covid 19 Fiji Experience: Ilisapeci Vodonaivalu

For many first time visitors to Fiji, flight attendants gave them their first impressions of what the world-famous 'Bula spirit' was all about.


The Fiji Times will feature videos over the next few months where former flight attendants will share their experiences on how they calmed jittery travellers, provided first aid during medical emergencies at 35,000 ft and even how they consoled the loved ones of passengers who did not make it through to their final destination.


They will share with us the intimate details of what made their time with our national carrier the most memorable moments of their lives.

For most, it was more than just a way of providing a living.


It was their way of sharing the Fijian spirit with those who had never experienced it.


And they share how along their journey, they overcame obstacles and challenges and rose to meet each one with renewed vigour.


This spirit continues today, despite losing their jobs on May 25 in the wake of COVID-19.
